The Intimidator

Over the course of the past week I was informed by three different friends (close friends) that I intimidate them in one way or another. A guy friend told me I make him feel socially awkward, two girl friends told me I make them feel less intelligent (actually the word used was "stupid"). So that set me to thinking...if I don't INTEND to make someone feel stupid, do I still bear any responsibility in the matter. Should I use smaller words to make others around me more comfortable? My conclusion is a resounding NO! I will not contribute to the dumbing down of society. If you don't understand what I am talking about then ask me, I'll be happy to explain and hopefully both of us can learn something new in the process. But we shouldn't feel stupid or inferior when someone else has a better grasp on a particular subject. Let's grow smarter together!
