Pearly Confusion

Buying toothpaste sets my teeth on edge.

I went grocery shopping last night and made it all the way through the store without having to make a complicated decision...until I got to the toothpaste aisle. Suddenly I was confronted with a multitude of options. I had more choices than a Chinese buffet.

Whitening. Extra Whitening. Pro-Health. Cavity Protection. Tartar Protection. Tartar Protection Whitening. Baking Soda Peroxide Whitening with Tartar Protection. Maximum Strength Sensitivity Protection Whitening Plus Scope. Gel. Paste. Mint. Vanilla Mint. Citrus Clean Mint. Green Tea Mint. Lemon Ice. Cinnamon.

And all of that JUST from Crest. Don't even get me started on Colgate, Aquafresh, Aim, Sensodyne, Oral-B...

I don't even know which one I purchased.

Was there one called Cream of Tartar?

I was so confused by it all that I thought the last option was Lemon Ice Cinnamon.... and that was all I could take. Then I see Beth's idea for Cream of Tartar... I may just stop brushing my teeth altogether.

Seriously though... I have one kind that I buy, and I don't even consider others. I am quite satisfied with it. Unfortunately, I can't remember which one it is. I just know it when I see it. It is Crest, I know that much... and it has peroxide, I think.

On a serious note, I try to check for ADA approval. If you check the boxes, sometimes the new flavas and formulas haven't got approval yet.

If there's a study that says the bubble gum Barbie cleans just as well as Rembrandt, I'm totally switching. BTW I found a cool t-brush called Tooth Tunes that plays a Kelly Clarkson song while you brush. Wow. Very hard not to buy.

Colgate Total with Whitening all the way... I don't even know what other options are out there.

I did try ProHealth once because I could get it free after rebate - not impressed. It tasted weird and left a funny film in my mouth.

Todd - I don't recommend that you stop brushing your teeth altogether. At least not if you want me to keep hanging out with you...
